HP-UX Software Recovery Handbook

Dear Reader,

The Software Recovery Handbook is a collection of HP-UX related cookbooks contributed by HP engineers based on their practical experience. It originally aimed at serving HP engineers as a useful everyday tool. Due to the great acceptance in the field over the past years, we decided to provide it to HP customers, too.

The individual chapters of the handbook are available for download as PDF documents through the Knowledgebase for the HP IT Resource Center http://itrc.hp.com.

Please be aware that the book is likewise available to registered HP customers and HP engineers. Hence it contains several links to locations within the private HP intranet that are intended for HP people only.

We like to emphasize that this is not an officially released HP document. It is a contributed collection of cookbooks. HP is not responsible for any problems resulting from the use of unofficial procedures given in this book.

We would like to invite you to send us your feedback in order to allow continuous improvement of the handbooks. You use the standard feedback process within ITRC.

How to Find the HP-UX Software Recovery Handbook sections in the ITRC Knowledgebase Search by Keyword

NOTE: You must have a login to the ITRC that entitles you to retrieve documents from the Knowledgebase.

1. Log in to the ITRC.
2. Under the Maintenance and Support (hp products) section, click on search technical knowledge base.
3. To search by keyword, change your Filter Options to search only manuals, guides and reference documents. Change your Results display to sort by Title.
4. In the keyword field, enter HP-UX Software Recovery Handbook and search for exact phrase.
5. You should see a listing of all the handbook sections. Click on the one you want to view to open the pdf file.

How to Find the HP-UX Software RecoveryHandbook sections in the ITRC Knowledgebase Search by Doc ID

1. Log in to the ITRC.
2. Under the Maintenance and Support (hp products) section, click on search technical knowledge base.
3. From the dropdown list at the top left of the search screen, select Search by document ID.
